This DIN VDE 0620-1 Bild 43 Vorrichtung zur Prüfung der seitlichen Schutzkontakte is developed to test the lateral protective contacts of fixed sockets for household and similar applications, fully complying with DIN VDE 0620-1 (2021-02 edition) Bild 43. Crafted from stainless steel, it features precise structural design and dimensional control to apply specified torque loads on the lateral protective contacts, ensuring the contacts maintain functional integrity after stress testing. By verifying whether Gauge 4 can be inserted smoothly post-test, the device effectively validates the reliability and compliance of socket products, serving as an essential tool for quality assurance in electrical socket manufacturing and certification processes.
Specifications:
• Applicable Standard: DIN VDE 0620-1 (2021-02 edition) Bild 43
• Core Function: Testing the performance of lateral protective contacts in fixed sockets
• Material: Stainless steel (Stahl, rostfrei)
• Applied Torque: 100 ± 5 Ncm
• Torque Application Duration: 1 min ± 5 s
• Key Dimensional Specifications (tolerances included where specified):
– 26.9 ± 0.2 mm
– R19 ± 0.06 mm
– 12 mm (non-mandatory dimension)
– 1.5 ± 0.1 mm (non-mandatory dimension)
– 0.5×45° chamfer
– 0.3×45° chamfer
– 1×45° chamfer
• Supplementary Requirement: Necessary clearances are allowed to ensure the gauge sits flat on the base.
Test Procedures:
• Prepare three new test sockets (fixed sockets for household and similar purposes) and ensure the test device is clean, intact, and meets dimensional requirements.
• Position the first test socket and apply torque to its lateral protective contacts using the device in accordance with the configuration shown in Bild 43a, maintaining a torque of 100 ± 5 Ncm for 1 min ± 5 s (clockwise direction).
• Repeat Step 2 for the second test socket, applying torque in the clockwise direction as specified.
• For the third test socket, apply torque in the counterclockwise direction using the device (following Bild 43a configuration) with the same torque (100 ± 5 Ncm) and duration (1 min ± 5 s).
• After completing the torque application for all three test sockets, use the auxiliary gauge (Bild 43b) to assist in the inspection.
• Attempt to insert Gauge 4 into each tested socket; verify that insertion is feasible without obstruction.
• Record the test results and confirm whether the sockets meet the compliance requirements specified in DIN VDE 0620-1 Bild 43.
Applications:
• Performance testing of lateral protective contacts in fixed sockets for household and similar applications.
• Compliance verification of socket products to meet the general requirements of DIN VDE 0620-1 (2021-02 edition) Bild 43.
• Quality control in the production line of electrical sockets to ensure structural and functional reliability of protective contacts.
• Conformance testing for socket manufacturers targeting markets requiring adherence to German DIN VDE standards.
• Third-party certification and audit testing for electrical equipment compliance.
• Research and development validation for optimizing the design of socket lateral protective contacts.
• Pre-shipment inspection of socket products to ensure they meet international market access requirements.
