The most of luminaires manufacturers are requested to do IK level test (Impact Protection). LISUN can supply the IK test instrument: IEC62262 Impact Protection Tester | IK07 to IK10 Pendulum Impact Hammer.
IK ratings are defined as IKXX, where “XX“ is a number from 00 to 10 indicating the degrees of protection provided by enclosures (including luminaires) against external mechanical impacts. The different IK ratings relate to the ability of an enclosure to resist impact energy levels measured in joules (J). IEC62262 specifies how the enclosure must be mounted for testing, the atmospheric conditions required, the quantity and distribution of the test impacts and the impact hammer to be used for each level of IK rating. The IK test applicate on lighting luminaires test according to IEC60598 (GB7000) and IEC60068-2-75 (GB2423.55).

Q1: The composition of the entire IK equipment
A1: There are 10 levels for IK test. IK01 to IK06 are generally spring hammers, and IK07 to IK10 are generally large pendulum hammers. The spring hammer can also be designed into a small pendulum hammers according to customer needs.
Q2: IK test is a mechanical test, why does it also require power supply?
A2: The IK test itself is a mechanical test and does not require power supply. However, LISUN has added an automatically adjustable lifting platform to the equipment, which can automatically adjust the height of the platform according to the size of the sample. If this function is used, the equipment needs to be powered.
Q3: How to set the dropping height of the hammer?
A3: According to the impact energy required for each IK level, the hammer and the required height are different. After selecting the corresponding hammer, adjust it to the corresponding height position to correctly perform the IK test of that level. For IK07 and IK10 level tests, the hammer needs to be raised to 400mm, for IK08 level tests, the hammer needs to be raised to 300mm, and for IK09 level tests, the hammer needs to be raised to 200mm. The following pictures show the pendulum rod position settings for IK07 and IK10 tests. The upper edge of the slider is at the 400mm line.
