The EDX-2 series energy scattered X-ray fluorescent spectrometer is realized by analyzing the element characteristic X-ray wavelength and strength of the element emitted by the sample. The elements contained in the sample are determined according to the different elements characteristics of the X -ray wavelength, and the content of the element in the sample can be determined by comparing the strength of the different elemental spectrum.

Q1: Problems on the testing of Cr and br
A1: In nature, there are three states of Cr: 0 valent chromium, 3 valent chromium and 6 valent chromium. The European Union controls 6 valent chromium. TBD indicates that further analysis is needed, because we test the total chromium content, which exceeds 1000ppm. However, it is uncertain whether it is 6 valent chromium controlled by the European Union. The alloy contains 0 valent chromium and 6 valent chromium, which are most common in the passivation residue of potassium dichromate solution on the surface of color zinc coating.
Br is also the total amount of BR bromine tested. If the total amount exceeds the standard, it means there is a risk of exceeding the standard. It cannot mean that the PBBs and PBDEs controlled by the EU exceed the standard. It needs to be sent to a third-party testing agency for further analysis and determination, or purchased a chromatograph for self inspection.
Q2: The use of the three softwares of the EDX-2 series.
A2: EDX-2 series instruments have three functions: RoHS related element content test (please use RoHS software), other elements and metal element content test (please use Element software), coating thickness test (please use MTFFP software). The test function, range, and standard curves of each software are different. Please choose the correct software and refer to the user manual for testing.

Q3: How to add standard correct curves?
A3: RoHS related element content test (RoHS software), other elements and metal element content test (Element software), coating thickness test (MTFFP software), all three softwares have built-in standard correct curves based on standard samples. When doing tests, users need to select the corresponding standard curve according to the sample to obtain accurate test results. As shown below:

All these curves are added to the system before leaving the factory based on standards and standard samples, and can basically cover most customer testing needs. Customers cannot add standard correct curves by themselves, so you need to explain your testing needs in detail before purchase, and then we will adjust the instrument according to your needs.
Q4: After updating the computer OS, the instrument can no longer be used?
A4: The instrument is equipped with a computer when it leaves the factory, and all the drivers and software that need to be installed have been installed and debugged. When it leaves the factory, the OS language will also be set to Chinese or English according to your region. Please do not change the OS language, and do not update the OS, otherwise the system may become unusable. If there is any abnormality, please restore the OS to the factory state. If there is still an abnormality, please contact us to help you remotely.
